As the Omicron wave dissipates, many countries around the world are easing their Covid travel restrictions in order to welcome tourists back.
Some still have strict rules for tourism, especially for those who are not currently fully vaccinated. Spain, for example, prohibits the entry of most unvaccinated travelers for tourist purposes – although you can still enter for a holiday if you are an EU citizen, a family of one or if you normally reside in the country. Teenagers aged 12 to 17 will no longer need to have received both shots to enter the country if they have a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before arrival.
Most destinations will require a Covid test before travel, but some also have other restrictions. Here’s what you need to know about vaccine-free travel.

Where can I travel without a vaccine?
If you’re not fully vaccinated, you still have plenty of options when it comes to vacation destinations. However, you may be required to take a Covid test prior to travel and/or upon arrival. A period of quarantine – either in accommodation of your choice or in a government facility – may also be mandatory. In some cases, you may be able to circumvent these additional requirements by presenting proof of recent recovery from Covid or a medical waiver to be vaccinated.
It is always worth checking before traveling as restrictions between different countries can vary greatly. Croatia, for example, accepts four different documents for entry, including: proof of vaccination received within the last 365 days, a negative antigen test within the last 48 hours, a negative PCR test within the last 72 hours, or a medical certificate attesting to a recent cure. of Covid. The Dominican Republic, meanwhile, will only accept a negative PCR test result from the previous 72 hours in lieu of a full vaccination.

For much of Egypt you will need a negative PCR test taken 72 hours before travel, but some resorts accept PCR tests on arrival with mandatory self-isolation until results come back negatives. And for El Salvador, no test or vaccination is required to enter the country. As for Greece, vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers are treated the same – they all have to take a Covid test before travelling, but there is no need for quarantine in either case.
