Thomas Partey has had a largely frustrating first season in English football.
Many Arsenal fans were elated after the Ghanaian joined Arsenal on a sensational £ 45million deal last October, after being linked with a number of other clubs.
The former Atletico Madrid midfielder joined Arsenal with a huge reputation and Partey had to hit the ground at the Emirates Stadium.
However, the 27-year-old suffered a number of injuries and struggled to stay in shape during his first campaign in north London, making 32 appearances in all in all competitions for the Gunners.
And former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has attributed the physicality of England’s top flight as the main cause of his fitness issues.
Campbell told the Highbury Squad: âThomas Partey has never been injured. He has had three or four injuries since joining Arsenal.
âI think so far we’ve always kind of fed him, trying to make sure he gets through games.

âAgain, Spanish football and English football are totally different. The game is the same, but the physicality is different.
“So he has to get acquainted with that physicality.”
Partey, who has only started 17 Premier League games all season, hopes that a full pre-season with Mikel Arteta’s side will go a long way in helping him regain the form he has shown during his time in the Spanish capital.
