In Morocco each year, the average number of visitors of 12 million makes the country the second most visited country on the African continent.

This North African country is the second after Egypt. According to a report by the African exhibitor, Egypt welcomes an average of 13 million visitors each year.

The cultural and historical heritage of Morocco positions its cities among the first world tourist destinations. Marrakech has notably acquired the reputation of being a world-class tourist destination.

It is home to some of the best luxury hotels and resorts in the world, including the Royal Mansour Hotel. This hotel claimed the title of the best hotel in the world in 2021.

The government of Morocco considers its tourism as a key sector for socio-economic development. The government has invested in recent years in developing the country’s prospects as a tourist destination, in addition to Morocco’s historical and cultural appeal. Last Friday, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) launched a new campaign. It aims to promote Morocco as an international holiday destination.

Baptized “Morocco, land of light”, the brand is mainly aimed at young tourists. It will extend to France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and African countries, the ONMT said.
