The General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, UNWTO in Madrid, Spain, announced the selection of the Lebanese village of Bkassine as one of the best tourist villages in the world, out of more than 170 villages in 75 countries.
This victory goes to a Lebanese city decorated with pine forests at a time when Lebanon constantly witnesses a series of burning fires between its villages and its mountains in many regions, and its difficult financial situation worsens, and Miss Lebanon and the marathon runner Lisa Chatila affirms that despite all the difficulties, Lebanon will recover.
Lisa felt that this important achievement is a clear proof of the value of the Lebanese village: “Our Lebanese countryside is an exceptional example of a tourist destination with globally recognized natural and cultural origins. Lebanese villages have preserved and strengthened societal values and lifestyles ”.
The Lebanese beauty and marathon runner who lives in London, celebrated with the Lebanese community the title says that the winning village Bkassine 70 kilometers from the capital Beirut, with an average altitude of 800 meters above sea level, and contains in its soil the largest and most beautiful pine forest in the Middle East.
Pine forests are among the most important features of Lebanon that attract tourists, and Lebanon is nicknamed the “endless pine paradise”.
