Queen Letizia and King Felipe of Spain prioritize safety as they continue their tour of their country today, with the royal couple wearing protective masks.

Mother of two Letizia, 47, and her husband, 52, visited the medieval monastery of San Juan de la Peña, southwest of Jaca.

The trip is part of a royal tour that takes the couple through several Spanish Autonomous Communities with the aim of supporting economic, social and cultural activity in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Letizia looked at the image of sophistication in a sleek black culottes and cream knit when she appeared alongside her husband, who wore an equally charming blazer and pants combo.

Looking relaxed in the historic setting, the royal wore her brown hair pulled back into a curly ponytail and kept her eye makeup minimal.

She completed her look with black espadrilles and emphasized her slender figure with a matching slim belt, cinched at the waist.

Letizia’s husband Felipe completed his fashionable outfit by wearing a light blue shirt, stylish cream pants and a pair of brown leather shoes.

The royal couple seem to have adapted perfectly to the new normal and sports masks during a walkabout.

The Monastery of San Juan de la Peña is hidden in the cliffs and is “one of the gems of medieval times and one of the most important monuments in the region,” according to a local tourist website.

Felipe and Letizia then traveled to downtown Jaca and visited the local cathedral on their trip.

The couple’s exit comes after they made a solemn demonstration to attend a funeral mass at La Almudena Cathedral in Madrid this week.

Letizia and Felipe joined their daughters, Princess Leonor, 14, and Princess Sofia, 12, as they paid tribute to COVID-19 victims on duty wearing black.

Felipe joined the family wearing face masks, as the country slowly eases lockdown rules in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The family entered the church, watched by hundreds, where they stood in front to listen to the service marking the tragic events.

Felipe and Letizia have been on a series of tourism and cultural engagements to help boost the country’s economy after their strict lockdown.
