BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday launched an all-out attack on Congress and its former president Rahul Gandhi in Assam. He addressed a campaign rally in the segment of the Palasbari assembly of Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency, where he fired verbal rounds at Gandhi and his party.
“What does the Indian National Congress (INC) mean? It means irresponsible, nepotism, and corrupt, while Rahul means rejected, absent, desperate, useless and a liar. There is no greater liar than Rahul Gandhi, ”said Chouhan.
“In the 2018 elections, he (Rahul) promised to renounce agricultural loans up to Rs 2 lakh when he came to power. He had announced that the CM would be changed if the loans were not canceled within 10 days in MP, but that did not happen. Neither the loan up to Rs 2 lakh was canceled nor the CM changed. He had also promised unemployment benefit to the MP, but not even a single penny was given to an unemployed youth at the MP as unemployment benefit during the reign of Congress, ”Chouhan said.
“It’s election season again and he (Rahul) is now making similar promises to Assam. It gives five guarantees and also asks young people to fill out job registration forms. He made similar promises in MP three years ago, but none of them have been kept. He promised to forgo agricultural loans up to Rs 2 lakh de lakhs from farmers in MP, but farmers have instead received collection notices from banks, ”Chouhan said showing copies of notices sent by banks to farmers failing PM in 2019.
Addressing Congress for aligning with Badruddin Ajmal’s All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in Assam, he said Congress does not respect its own leaders such as Ghulam Nabi Azad, but embraces “without shameful “Ajmal, who is the greatest threat to the security and culture of Assam. I want to ask Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, what prompted them to align with Ajmal in Assam, with whom even Tarun Gogoi refused to be reconciled.
Responding to deputy CM’s jibe against Rahul Gandhi, Congress of Deputies secretary general (media) KK Mishra called Shivraj “meaningless, hopeless, foolish, virus, rigid, absent and wild card”.
