The Eastleigh-based airport is home to a number of airlines, including British Airways which started flying from the site earlier this year.

In May, BA’s very first flight took off from the airport in what has been described as an “exciting” upheaval in travel options.

Although the airline has had to run a reduced schedule since due to the coronavirus pandemic, a number of places are currently available to fly from the airport.

These include city breaks and also new winter locations.

With travel now much easier than it has been since the launch of BA Routes from Southampton Airport, we’ve listed all the destinations you can travel to below.

However, some destinations are currently not available for flights from the airport, with the routes only operational during the warmer months.

Alicante (Spain)

Conveniently located between the popular tourist destinations of Benidorm and Cartagena, Alicante is the perfect airport for catching a plane if you fancy some sunshine.

Unfortunately, if you want to travel from Southampton Airport to the airport, you will have to wait until the end of April when flights resume for the summer.

Bergerac (France)

Another destination that you can only visit during the summer season, Bergerac in France is surrounded by vineyards and fields and is located on the Dordogne river.

Flights will operate three times a week from Southampton for the majority of the weeks between mid-May and September.

Chambery (France)

British Airways’ new route to Chambéry will begin soon with flights departing on December 18.

Better known as a gateway to many French alpine ski villages, the town could be the perfect destination for those looking to ski or snowboard.

Edinburgh (GB)

BA is one of the many airlines that fly regularly from Southampton Airport to Edinburgh.

Currently you can travel six days a week to the Scottish capital.

Faro (Portugal)

Another summer destination, you can travel to the Algarve from Hampshire between April 30 and October 8 next year.

The flight takes just under three hours and departs Southampton every Saturday.

Mallorca (Spain)

Another of our favorite places to go, Mallorca has long been a popular destination for Brits.

However, as with other popular sun destinations, flights will not begin until April 2022.

Malaga (Spain)

Gateway to the sun on the Costa del Sol, Malaga is located close to several popular seaside resorts.

November is unfortunately the wettest month of the year in the region, perhaps one reason BA does not fly at this time of year from Southampton.

Flights will resume at the end of April.

With average summer temperatures of 26 ° C, the island is a popular destination for Britons.

Like other sunny destinations from Southampton, flights do not start operating again until May.

Salzburg (Austria)

Located in the Austrian Alps, Salzburg combines historic architecture and modernity and is the birthplace of Mozart.

From December 11, the BA CityFlyer service to Salzburg will operate once a week from the airport.
