The project is located on a pine plot within the Sagesse Ain Saadeh high school campus. The client initially intended to build a standard hangar to house a basketball and football field. During the design phase, and several proposals submitted, he was convinced to give a design touch to the new building. The program has been expanded, adding sports classes, a cafeteria, gymnasium and services. The proposed âhangarâ structural solution was the primary design concept. Thanks to the wire mesh structure, high spam could be achieved. Its dynamic form underlined the sporting function of the project.
The silhouette of the main structure has been designed to allow the solar panels to be fixed on the south side with the necessary angle. On the main road, the structure, slightly leaning, was designed to receive publicity and make the school profitable. On the north elevation, where the light entering from the outside is homogeneous all day long without direct sunlight, polycarbonate sheets have been installed allowing the light to penetrate into the courts, without having a high warming effect. The casing, originally designed to be an anthracite textile with good ventilation performance, was replaced with sandwich panels in the same color for budget purposes. To enter the project, the visitor enters the red ramp winding under the pines.
The lobby is located on the middle level, and is covered with a white perforated aluminum composite panel with athlete shapes on it. The interior space is designed to be as practical, industrial, robust and economical as possible with raw concrete, playful colored volumes, a designer staircase etc. All the functions within the complex communicate with each other thanks to the voids created between the rooms. soils making the whole project more alive.
